VMAX also does not (at the time of this writing) support virtualization of external storage.

I assume he’s talking about bringing universal federation of EMC arrays to Enginuity. I doubt very many VMAX customers want to also buy VPLEX just to be able to migrate LUNS off legacy storage. Chad hinted at this in January.
